[ESDW] kilometers, the smart - sustainable - commuting assistant

As part of Europe’s Sustainable Development Week (ESDW - 30 May - 5 June 2019), mobility app kilometers is proud to announce its commitment to 4 of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this pledge, kilometers is collaborating with Reforest'Action, a charity working to plant trees in France and around the world.

Product commitments: 

  • Decent work and economic growth (Goal # 8): kilometers is committed to improving work-life balance by suggesting quicker or more environmentally friendly ways to get around. Enterprise dashboards let value employee commute efforts.

  • Sustainable cities and communities (Goal #11): kilometers promotes mixed-mode transport solutions, encouraging users to incorporate public transport into their daily commute. kilometers also works with a network of eco-friendly partners, such as private cab company Marcel (Paris).

  • Climate Action (Goal #13): kilometers encourages businesses and colleagues to take steps to lower their CO2 emissions, for example by corporate carpooling.

  

Brand commitments:

Life on land (Goal #15) : kilometers pledges to donate 1% of its current and future revenue in favor of reforestation - via Reforest’Action - which planted its first forest of 150 trees in May 2019.

Kilometers syncs automatically with Google Calendar/Outlook to suggest quicker, more environmentally friendly routes and transport options for users’ commutes and business trips.
